Editorial Policy

This page sets out how GLOW by JL chooses what to recommend, how we evaluate what we cover, and how we handle disclosures. It applies to every guide, comparison, and product roundup on this site.

How we choose products

A press-on set or related product has to clear four criteria before it appears in a recommendation:

• Durability: credible 10–14 day wear under normal daily use, supported by aggregated user reviews from at least two independent sources (Amazon, Sephora, Ulta, Reddit, brand-site reviews).
• Value: per-wear cost we can defend against the next-best alternative in the same wear-length tier.
• Brand legitimacy: traceable manufacturer, published returns policy, and a working customer-service channel.
• Material spec disclosed: the brand publishes what the nail is made of (ABS, polygel, soft gel, etc.) and the spec is consistent with the wear claim.

How we evaluate

We are honest about our methodology: we do not run a controlled lab. Most product evaluations on GLOW by JL combine three inputs — aggregated user-review data across at least two independent sources, brand reputation and operating history, and the material spec disclosed by the manufacturer. Where we have hands-on experience with a set, we say so explicitly in the guide and describe the testing conditions. Where we don’t, we say that too. We never present third-party reviews as if they were our own testing.

Disclosure

Some links on GLOW by JL may be affiliate links. When we add affiliate partnerships, we mark them on each page they appear and continue to recommend products only against the criteria above — not against commission rates. We do not accept payment for inclusion in roundups, and we do not let brands review or approve our coverage before publication.

Update cadence

Press-on brands change formulations and product lines often. We revisit every published guide on a quarterly cadence, update prices, swap out discontinued sets, and re-check our recommendations against current user reviews. The “Last updated” date under the title of each guide reflects the most recent review.
